The county says it has no current countywide official digital zoning map. Its 1973 mylar/community maps can be viewed on request but do not reflect every later rezone; contact Planning for current zoning. The county Zoning Code excludes the City of Loyalton.
Before you start
- Availability · Explicit lack of a current countywide online zoning map
- Sierra County does not currently have a current, countywide Zoning Map or Zoning Plan as a GIS layer or other "official" digital map. [3]
- Availability · Paper maps require current Planning confirmation
- However, these "hard copy" maps do not reflect all subsequent rezones (or zone changes/amendments) since 1973. [4]
The County lists application-packet requirements, preliminary completeness review and subsequent project review. Processing time and fees differ by application type; completeness review is not the full approval timeline.
Service area: County Planning application information. Confirm jurisdiction for the property and project; incorporated-city authority is not established by this entry. [5]
Before you start
- Processing time · Preliminary completeness letter, deposit and later processing start
- Once an application has been accepted, planning staff will conduct a preliminary review of the submission. Within 30 days a letter will be sent to the applicant, notifying whether the submission is complete or incomplete, and requesting a deposit for the estimated application processing fees and detailing additional information if necessary. Processing begins once the application is deemed complete and the fees are collected. [6]
- Availability · Hearing determination, appeal and variable processing time/fees
- The staff recommendation is presented in a public hearing before the Planning Commission which will make a for determination to approve or deny the application. The Planning Commission may approve, approve subject conditions, or deny the application. Any decision by the Planning Commission may be appealed to the Board of Supervisors. Processing time and fees differ based on the type of application. For more information, please contact us. [7]
