Weekly public Board meetings are held Tuesdays starting at 9:00 a.m. The meetings are held in the Board Chambers, located on 1400 W. Lacey Boulevard, Administration Building No. 1, Hanford, California. As required by law the agenda packet will be available by 5:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to the next Tuesday's meeting. Public Requests: If you have a matter which you wish to place before the Board of Supervisors, you may contact the Clerk of the Board Office either by mail, phone, or e-mail to discuss the options and procedures. [6]

Public Presentations: Persons desiring to address the Board on any matter not on the Agenda, and that is within the jurisdiction of the Board, may do so under the UNSCHEDULED portion of the Agenda. Speakers are limited to two minutes. No formal action will be taken by the Board regarding this portion of the agenda other than to make a referral to county staff for review or action. Persons wishing to address a specific item on the agenda may do so at the time the Chairman calls for public input before the vote on the item. [7]

Hearings: Proponents and opponents may address the Board. The most effective manner of communicating your thoughts to the Board on public hearing matters is by submitting comments in writing. The Clerk of the Board should receive written communications no later than 8:00 a.m. on the morning of the meeting so that the information may be reproduced and provided to the Board, written comments received by 8:00 a.m. for hearings will be accepted into the record for that meeting and made part of the permanent record. Information received after 8:00 a.m. will be made part of the record for the following meeting/hearing. However, legally you may submit written material up to and including the time of the actual public hearing. [8]

Written comments should be directed to bosquestions@co.kings.ca.us email by 8:00 a.m. on the morning of the noticed meeting to be included in the record, those comments received after 8:00 a.m. may become part of the record of the next meeting. E-mail is not monitored during the meeting. Comments are not read into the record but are referenced by name in order received. [11]
