The City of Fort Bragg entered into a 10-year exclusive franchise agreement for its refuse collection (commonly known as municipal garbage or trash) within the city limits service area for single-family, multi-family, and commercial waste generators with Redwood Waste Solutions, Inc. dba C&S Waste Solutions, on December of 2021, after the City's previous Franchise Agreement with USA Waste of California, dba Empire Waste Management also known as Waste Management (WM) came to an end June 30, 2022.

Trash is collected weekly and green waste is collected every other week, Monday through Friday. The collection day depends on where you live in the City. Trash must be set out at the curb by 6 a.m. for pickup. Please place your green waste container in the street with your garbage container. Be sure to leave at least 4 to 6 feet between your garbage and green waste container as well as all the way around the can.
